Biography

Caroline grew up in rural Shropshire and could not help but be influenced by the beautiful natural surroundings – walking through woods, playing in fields full of wild flowers, and “helping” her parents in the garden,

Caroline remembers always asking for felt pens, crayons and paints for birthday and Christmas presents ( not much change there!).

One of her biggest influences in these early years was her grandmother, a former painter in the Pottery Industry, who encouraged the use of watercolour paints and colour mixing to achieve natural colours.

Caroline opted for a strictly academic pathway in secondary school and so did not discover the joy of creating art until much later when summer activities in the art department of her local adult education centre attracted her attention. Caroline went on to complete courses in Art and Design, Oil Painting and Abstract painting at City and Guilds level, over the next few years.

Following a career change and a reduction in caring responsibilities Caroline is now free to pursue a full time career in Art and is devoting her time to developing her art business and creating art within her community. Current projects include - art club for primary school age children at the local gallery, ad hoc art events at local celebrations and outdoor Water Colour painting in the Community Allotment.

.For her own art she

likes to paint in acrylics and despite lots of experimentation has always returned to her favourite subject matter – flowering plants and trees. Caroline creates designs which are then printed on Cushions, Mugs, Placemats, Coasters and Bags.

Caroline now lives in a small Dartmoor Town with her husband and her hobbies include, playing the Cello in various local bands and orchestra, learning to speak Welsh, cooking and cake making, sewing and ( if time allows) relaxing with a good book.
